Little LuCk

A good Playdate is pure LuCk!

For the most part, Lucas and Chuck run the show. We are just along for the ride!
But, a good LuCk playdate isn't pure magic.  It's a combination of timing, planning, prepping, and figuring out what your kid thinks is fun!

For the most part, here are the Playdate Basics that we follow:
  1. Timing is everything: figure out when your kids nap (if they nap) and how to get them when they are refreshed.
  2. Gather all materials: when you are knee deep in goop, its the wrong time to realize you may need a towel.  Make sure you have everything close by before you get going.
  3. Choose your guest list wisely: this really depends on the activity. Sometimes you will be able to invite the whole neighborhood. Sometimes it really is best to just have one friend over.
  4. Figure out what your kid is into: Lucas likes trucks. Chuck likes music. Will this change next week?  Probably.  They are learning all the time. Figure out what they like and plan from there.
  5. Keep it simple: One of my most humbling moments was realizing that my kid could play with an empty water bottle for hours.  Sometimes, even after following all the "rules", you just have to go with it.
